Göran Ando

Göran Ando was born on 6 March 1949 and is a Swedish citizen. Dr Ando is a Specialist in General Medicine and is a Founding Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology in the US.

Dr Ando is the former Executive Vice President and President of Research & Development of Pharmacia Corporation which was acquired by Pfizer Inc. in 2003. In April 2003, he accepted the appointment as Chief Executive Officer with Celltech Group PLC in the United Kingdom until its acquisition in 2004 by UCB. Dr Ando is currently Chairman of Novexel SA, Paris, Vice Chairman of Novo Nordisk A/S, Copenhagen, and Vice Chairman of S*Bio Pte Ltd, Singapore. In addition, Dr Ando is presently a Member of the Board of Directors of the following companies: Nicox SA, France, EUSA Pharma, United Kingdom, EDBI Pte, Singapore, CBio Pte, Brisbane and Albea Pharmaceuticals AG, Switzerland.

Dr Ando also serves as a Senior Advisor to Essex Woodlands Health Ventures UK Ltd. In addition, Dr Ando is Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board, Southwest Michigan First (SWMF).
